14-year-old Pinoy gets the Sudoku Grandmaster title

14-year-old, Timothy James Tan, a 2nd year high school student from Trinity Christian School in Bacolod City, outlasted 28 other contestants including professionals in the Grandmaster Division of Sudoku Game.

He is now the newest Sudoku Grandmaster, after topping the 5th Philippine Sudoku Super Challenge national finals held last Saturday at SM City North EDSA in Quezon City. He garnered a total of 1,576.33 points.

James Tan was followed by Alvin Ian Chan, a student of Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) at 1st runner-up; and Matthew Chris Chan, also from ADMU at 2nd runner-up. While Marielle Dee of Quezon City and Frederick Ong of Bacolod City finished 3rd and 4th runners-up, respectively.
