EngKey is the robot English teacher, This robot is about 3.3 feet tall with a LCD screen panel to show a human instructor’s face, wheeled around the classrooms while speaking to students, teaching how to read books to them and dancing to music by moving their head and arms.
The Robot English Teacher started to teach those elementary student in 21 elementary school in Daegu, Seoul South Korea. According to reports, 29 robots have started teaching English to youngsters, in a pilot project designed to nurture the nascent robot industry.
Report said, the Korea Institute of Science of Technology (KIST) who developed the robot and currently cost 10 million won each. The robots are being controlled through remotely by a person in the Philippines. The person can see and hear the students via a remote control system.
