Mrs Aylward, a Filipino mother-of-four who has been a registered nurse for 10 years. A registered nurse since December 1st 2000, was suspended on October 28th 2009, and “remains suspended” while the Nursing and Midwifery Council looks into the case. No date has been set for a formal disciplinary hearing.

The video, which was passed on to the BBC, shows Aylward mistakenly turning off the ventilator before making a botched attempt to resuscitate Merrett.
The National Health Service (NHS) Wiltshire Primary Care Trust said in a statement: "(We have) put in place a series of actions to ensure that such an event will not occur again either for this patient or others."
