Leptospirosis Outbreak

Leptospirosis is a bacterial disease transmitted by animals such as rats, skunks, raccoons, dogs and other vermin through ingestion of food and water contaminated with their urine. An infections bacteria scientifically called spirochete. Patients affected by this disease suffers from swelling, cold and etc.

Today, because of continues rainfall and typhoon, leptopirosis have become epidemic in some barangay in Marikina, Duque said there is now an outbreak in three Marikina villages—Tumana, Concepcion and Malanday. And more cases monitored since Oct. 1 in Metro Manila and Calabarzon—Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon. While patients affected run's up to more than 1,027 and around 89 patients died because of it.

Multiple bacteria from rats urine mixed with garbage full flood and mud, why more people are gradually affected by this disease outbreak.

DOH still can't do anything with those victims of leptospirosis, yet they can provide free medication and hospitalization for those affected and if you see some symptoms mentioned above, Our government already give their support for free medication and hospitalization, so don't think twice to go the designated hospital at no cost.
